*** This reviews contains spoilers from previous book in the series***

Where should I start..? After the Queen's murder and Rose's imprisonment, future didn't look so bright for our eclectic group of friends. Everything will be done to clear Rose's name though, and some alliance will be questioned. *tiny spoiler from the first chapters here* The clock is ticking though and the procedures surrounding Rose's accusations are speeding up, forcing her crew to take drastic decisions. Breaking Dimitri and Rose out of custody to hide while their name is been cleared is on the menu, but did they really think Miss Hathaway would sit back and wait? If so, they will be disappointed!

Before I get down to my impressions of the book, yes you will know who Lissa's siblings is. Yes, Tatiana's murderer will be found. Yes, Rose will choose between Dimitri & Adrian. And yes, you will die from excitement!

What a way to end a series! Each page is more exciting than the previous one, and when you thought you figured the whole thing? Wrong! Guess again! Mead keeps you on your toes the whole time and she won't disappoint. From page one, you sit and buckle your belt for quite a rollercoaster ride. Action, treason, mystery, courage, passion and love, Last Sacrifice has everything to please its readers.

You've made it this far, you know how fabulous Mead's characters are, so there's not really a need to yell loud and clear how much I love them.... but I will anyway! I'm in LOVE with those characters. Each one of them is special in their own way. They have wits and snarky comments, they are committed and fearless, they will surprise you, frustrate you, disappointed you, but none will leave impassive.

Being the last book of a great series is a tough job. You have to tie up all the loose ends heading towards the climax ......and then, post climax, you have to resolve all the characters and relationships. It is a tough job but Richelle Mead pulls this off very admirably. Even with all the expectations of a finale she still throws in tons of action and plot misdirection. It is very entertaining to see how this is all accomplished. Great book and series.

Amazing finale of the Vampire Academy series!

Intense and shocking scenes when Rose's friends and her former lover broke her out of jail. Heart wrenching scenes when Dimitri meets other Strigoi. Sweet and detailed love scenes and amazing detail and description.

Tears fell out of my eyes at parts, while outrage was harshly expressed when the true murderer of Tatiana was found out.

Pleasure seeped through me when Rose and Dimitri could be together once more.

Truly amazing! I would recommend this to all my friends.

This was a great ending to the Vampire Academy series. It was full of action, tension, and twists.

Rose is charged with killing Queen Tatiana is about to stand trial for treason, an offense punishable by death. While she is locked up, the tables turn as it is her friends who have concocted the crazy plan to help her escape.

The story has two aspects: Rose and Dimitri and their life on the run, following leads and getting into their own trouble when they are supposed to be laying low; and Lissa and their friends trying to find the real murderer back at the royal court. Again, the connection between Lissa and Rose proves to be invaluable so that we can see what is going on in both places.

Then there is the development of the relationship between Rose and Dimitri - and how Adrian fits into what is going on between them. I did feel sorry for Adrian, but I thought it was interesting how Mead dealt with the whole thing. There certainly was no nicely wrapped up solution and I liked how Mead didn't pretend there was. She left some things messy.

There are also some great twists in the plot that keep the reader turning the pages. I love how so many threads throughout the whole series come together to make sense in this book. However, there are also some tangles, and though things all make sense in the end, there are still questions about what will happen next.

Overall, I think anyone who has read the Vampire Academy series will really love this book and will completely devour it, eating up every word and savoring the tension between Rose and Dimitri.

The whole series was a page turner. The story between Rose and Dimitri was so electric. I loved it!!! The friendship between Rose and Lisa was also pretty special. Just the whole story was great. I'm sad to hear that this is the last story about Rose. I felt like there was at least a couple more books left for Rose and all to star in.
