4.0 out of 5 stars A solid album, especially for a generally bland genre, April 4 2004
This review is from: Last Stop Suburbia (Audio CD)
Pop-punk is generally bland, but bands like Allister seem to prove there are always exceptions.

This album doesn't feature anything particuarly groundbreaking, but it does offer better guitar work and lyrics then what most pop-punk bands offer, and that right there is reason enough to give this band (especially this album) a shot. Who cares if they fall into a subdivision of punk that isn't classified as "true" punk? Give this album full of catchy songs a shot, and judge for yourself.

3.0 out of 5 stars Representing the genre, Feb 29 2004
This review is from: Last Stop Suburbia (Audio CD)
Nevermind the whole discussion of exactly what punk is, Allister have tightly put together a CD that works well in the happy dancy "punk" rock genre. Not annoying like Starting Line who comes over as whiney in my opinion. From what I've noticed, if you like this genre then Drive-Thru records is a perfect place to do your shopping.

I would have rated this album a 4 however this album suffers in the recording department. This CD sounds horrible on a hi-fi system. Upper frequencies have an annoying ring to them. Caution to audiophiles: you'll be burning a remix of this album yourself if you decide on putting this CD on high rotation.
