Product Description

Teresa "Toots" Loudenberry has a knack for finding adventure. But ever since Sophie convinced her friends to start holding regular seances, life in Los Angeles is getting a little too dramatic even for Toots' tastes. When Ida receives a message suggesting that her late husband was murdered, Toots decides it's time the Godmothers left L.A. for her hometown of Charleston...Meanwhile, Mavis has been acting suspiciously and refuses to divulge what she's up to. She should know by now that Ida, Toots, and Sophie will never let secrets rest or ignore a friend in need. And when the Godmothers discover that whoever killed Ida's husband has plans for Ida too, they'll do what they do best - rally together, concoct a daring plan, and show the world there is no match for these formidable friends...

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, but funny and entertaining, Mar 29 2011

This review is from: Final Edition Library Bound (Hardcover)
I love Fern Michaels' books but I must say this "Godmother Series" has been disappointing compared to the Sisterhood Series. This one pretty much focuses on the growth of each Godmother since Toots has rescued them from their awful lives. Toots is funny as are the others in their exchange with each other but the overall plot isn't very good. They leave L.A. for Charleston in their new adventure. As I said there really wasn't much to this book but I'm hoping that in the next one Ms. Michaels will make the exploits of these women more entertaining..

I will buy the next one in the hopes that it will be better, it's how I felt about the last one too only to be disappointed again but I will keep buying her books because she is a good writer and her books are usually entertaining, honest, emotional and yes funny.

2.0 out of 5 stars Lame!, Nov 28 2011

I loved the "Sisterhood" series (even though I'm a guy who is usually disgusted by chick books). Maybe my expectations for the "Godmothers" were too high, but the first one opened strong (Toots at funeral of hubby #8)but they went downhill from there. This last in the series was plain pointless and lame - even devoid of humor. Sorry, Fern.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too much bird flipping!!!, Sep 5 2011

Enjoyed the first two of this series, the third was just OK, but this most recent one is a disaster. Between the constant smoking and bird flipping you could hardly find a story. Very disappointing,to say the least, Fern.
