This was a very cool experience, and not a regular 1.5 hour film that one gets accustomed to. The first time I watched it I was QUITE confused for the first 20 mins, then I realized how very intriguing and daresay addictive story. What it truly reminds me of is installation film art.
Ok so with this DVD you get to choose paths. Not like those books we had as kids, as the clicks don't change the story. This is important to know. What you do choose is how you view the story lines, from what perspectives, in what order. The first, second, maybe even the fourth time you watch it - you will not get the whole story. The story is broken up into so many little scenes from each story line (Theo, Faye, and Kevin). When you click, it changes to another scene, and it's exciting after the first few watches when you still get new scenes that digs you deeper into the story.
If you choose not to click, you'll eventually get to little loops in the story - a few seconds switching over from one person to the next where you MUST choose. This happens when the people are in Offender/Victim therapy. This gives you a chance to come back to the hub of the story, and choose another storyline.
The acting is great, I loved it. Believable, emotional, tender, and at times extensively disturbing. There are very disturbing scenes so this is definitely not for kids. I would recommend this movie to anyone who wants something different out of a DVD experience, to anyone who likes installation art, and to anyone who likes interactive entertainment over "press play and watch till the end".
