As a fan of Law and Order it is hard to pick a favorite. The only thing that could improve this is to have all of the seasons released on DVD.

I have been of the opinion for years that Law and Order is the best drama series to come out of the US in years and it's great to finally see it out on DVD. However, as the previous reviewer rightly noted, it is a real pity that the other modern-era seasons of L&O have not been released in the same format for all of us nuts out here who are still crazy about it. I grew up watching this well-thought-out, well-scripted and excellently-acted series on TV and it is become tedious seeing that there is only one season being released at a time and a treasure-trove of seasons yet to be transferred to DVD, as every seaon is unique and engaging.

I can't wait to own the whole series some day, and sooner would be better than later...

I was ecstatic when I discovered the complete season DVD's of Law&Order(14)& its spinoff's SVU(5) and Criminal Intent(3) in the Moncton Walmart one day in Sept 2004. My favourite TV shows commercial free & what excellent value: each DVD package had 20 hours of viewing pleasure for a mere $50! I snapped them up & then had to buy a DVD player as well. Since then I have also bought up the handful of available early seasons plus Trial by Jury (a pity Trial was cancelled) & watched them all repeatedly & loved them till I know the dialogue nearly by heart. You see, I have not been able to get these shows on TV since I moved to the one-TV channel rural boondocks of New Brunswick in 2000. I am desperate especially for more post-2000 seasons of L&O. Why is it taking so long to produce these DVD's?? Sure, I love the 90's L&O but I have previously seen them on TV & reruns. What about the 2004-5 & 2005-6 seasons? Not everybody has cable or an overpriced Dish service.

I'm 60 yrs old & not getting any younger as I'm sure is much of the L&O audience. I'll be dead if I have to wait 13 more years while the distributors parsimoniously dole out an ancient season every 15 months or so -- & you the producers will be out the cash I'd gladly fork over for more recent seasons of L&O, SVU and CI right now. (Sept 2006).
