First, i own first 8 seasons of Law & Order and will buy 9 when released as well as the first 7 seasons of SVU (got repetative on 6) and that's enough. Secondly, i'm a big fan of British crime drama, e.g. I own all of Frost, Morse, Prime Suspect, Blue Muder, Rebus, Daliel and Pascoe, Taggart, etc. I am vastly disappointed w/ this series. Only 3 episodes out of 12 are original and identified as "based on ....". The other nine are clearly remakes of US episodes. Shame on Dick Wolf -- this is a money-grabber. If you like British Crime and don't watch L & O buy this for the dry wit, supurb acting from recognizable Brit stars of big/small screen and snappy dialogue. Do not buy this series if you want original screenplays. Do buy if you want a travelogue of London and an understanding of their legal system very, very different from American politically and money influenced "justice". Do not buy it if you want to add to your collection of stories.
Bonus: interviews w/ Dick Wolf (gag); actors Bradley Walsh (primary cop), Jamie Barber (Young sidekick) and Harriet Walters (police Super); writer Chris Chibnail (I though plagerism was a no-no); set tour w/ Freema Agyeman (assist. Crown Prosecutor). Commentary w/ producers and director.
