Very Disapointing, July 4 2003

I have loved Scott Turow's previous books. This one is one of the worst books I've ever read cover to cover. It just got more tedious and less interesting as it went along. The ending was pitiful.

Difficult to get into., Jun 13 2001

I found this book difficult to begin because it kept going between now and the past. This happened so often that it broke up the flow of the story and I had to keep reviewing to see who was who. However, it did improve somewhat after getting halfway through.

Story builds well, lets down at the end, May 25 2000

The story builds well with a fascinating court case, sprinkled with flashbacks to the main characters in their early years. The whole story comes apart in the last 25% of the book, and never recovers. I like Turow's work, this is not his best.
