This review is from: Lawren Harris: An Introduction to His Life and Art (Paperback)
If you don't know about the Canadian "group of seven" and in particular, Lawren Harris, then this book is an excellent way to be introduced to some incredible art. It is richly illustrated with a number of Harris paintings beginning with his very early work to his later pieces. I find the story of the "group of seven" founded by Lawren Harris to be captivating. It is well written, well researched and not only easy to read but it will lead you to want to learn more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Canadian Artist, May 8 2012

This review is from: Lawren Harris: An Introduction to His Life and Art (Paperback)
This is a delightful art book spanning the early to late paintings of the artist who is, to my mind, the most interesting of the Group of Seven. His evolving from a type of Northern Impressionism (influenced by Scandinavian art) to abstract interpretations of the Canadian Northland makes for fascinating reading.
