You wouldn't think this topic could be funny, however Sept. 11 2014
By Theresa Envid-Sanderlin - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback Verified Purchase
A strange tale of a family that has a store that sells implements as well as potions to enable one to commit suicide. You wouldn't think this topic could be funny, however, the author introduces the newest member of the family who is cheerful and optimistic (to a point of fault, in their opinion), and turns the family business around. For students of French some of the argot may prove difficult but, nevertheless, not impossible to read.
C'est une drole d'histoire d'un magasin ou on vend des trucs et poisons pour qu'on puisse se suicider. Pas drole, vous dites? Le fils, le plus jeune de la famille fait changer le magasin completement.

This is a fantastic book to enjoy if you have a dark sense of humor - it revolves around a family who runs a store selling everything one needs to committ suicide. It's been in the family for years...until this generation. The son of the owners is an eternal optimist who frustrates them to no end by disuading customers from pulling the trigger and switching out their poisonous candies for real ones. The french is not too difficult, and it's so short (100pgs) that even a beginner could get through it in a few days. And the ending is a doozy! Un vrai plaisir à savorer.
