5.0 out of 5 stars worth the money, Sep 26 2010

I took a glass blowing class a few years ago, but didn't have much time to continue after that. A few weeks ago, my mother bought me this book and I liked it. It's short, easy to read and I learned a lot from it. I am not a glass blowing expert, so if you know a lot about glass blowing, you probably already know most of what's inside this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars a great book for beginners, April 3 2011

I plan to take a course on glass blowing and I wanted to find out what exactly I need for this and if this is really for me or not and this book was exactly what I was looking for. It is small and well organized and have all the basics a beginner will need but it may not be the best book for someone that already have a good experience on glass blowing.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this book (booklet is a more apt description). I would characterize it more as a glossary than a "how to" book. It has a total of 80 pages - each 5"x4", with lots of white space! Many pages are entirely taken up by one of the black and white photos that have no direct relationship to the topic being discussed around that page and have no explanatory text. The photos are of very poor quality, quite a few are photos of strands of industrially manufactured beads (?!)

If like me, you are interested in cane making - this is definitely NOT the book! It has a total of 1 1/4 5" pages on the subject!!
