Wonderfully slow paced,
By BMJ (Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Learn to Tat (with DVD) (Paperback)
I've never tatted before. After watching the handy dvd that came with this book I felt much more comfortable with attempting the craft - by being able to see Exactly what to do and how I was put at ease. Pictures in books can only get you so far, it's the extra dvd and seeing it "first hand" through a screen (seeing all those extra little how-to's) that makes the difference. I recommend this bundle pack to anyone who's either having trouble getting started or just starting period. Can't understand where you're going wrong? Watch the dvd! It's Fantastic!!

The DVD that came with the book is absolutely marvellous. I was having a hard time getting the knots to sit right and the tips offered in the DVD were exactly what I needed. The text in the book is a "transcript" of the DVD -- handy as a mental reminder. I haven't gone though the entire book yet, but have completed the basic lessons and am happily tatting to my heart's content.

Learn to Tat - wonderful tool,

Learn to Tat was recommended by the teacher in the Tatting class and she was not wrong about the ease of learning at home from this book. The DVD is very easy to follow and the patterns are very good.

If you want to learn to tat, I recommend buying this book and DVD. I had only minimal knowledge about tatting, and this book/dvd enabled me to catch on very quickly. I think the DVD makes all the difference - seeing the actual tatting performed step by step and being shown what to do with your hands and the thread is what helped me to finally get things right. The book has some great patterns for all levels. I highly recommend this book/DVD.
