Book Description

Oct 27 2011
Learning Tagalog: A Complete Course with Audio will enable you to understand and participate in everyday Tagalog conversations. You will learn Tagalog naturally and efficiently, and have fun at the same time. The course is suited for beginners as well as intermediate learners. Advanced learners can use the course as a refresher. At a pace of 15-30 minutes per day, the course can be completed in about 6 months. The course includes: (1) Course Volumes 1, 2, and 3, featuring 60 lively lessons that teach practical, spoken Tagalog taken from daily life in the Philippines; (2) Essential Tagalog Grammar, a comprehensive reference with clear explanations, useful tables and plenty of practical examples; (3) audio recordings of the 1,298 phrases of the course (natural and slow), available on CD and as MP3 downloads (sold separately on learningtagalog.com). The course offers dialogues for context and drills for practice, audio recordings paired with pronunciation marks in the text, literal and natural translations, cultural and grammatical notes in the lessons and a grammar reference for a complete overview, and a well-thought-out structure that introduces useful material early on while still being easy to follow. 5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Approach! Mar 7 2012
By MickyS - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
After looking at many offerings in the Tagalog learning environment, I opine this is the cream of the crop. It will have you creating and understanding simple and intermediate sentences in no time. And, unlike Rosetta Stone, the authors (1) offer you the logic behind sentence structure in a straight-forward manner, which is crucial to wrapping your mind around the Tagalog language, and (2) they contextualize the lessons, infusing them with slices of day-to-day life in the Philippines. Couple the lessons with the electronic or hard copy version of their excellent "Essential Tagalog Grammar: A Reference for Learners of Tagalog" and you are well on your way to becoming conversant in the language. Beyond that, the authors are approachable and helpful. This is another attribute that places this course well ahead of other offerings on the market.
4.0 out of 5 stars best yet April 8 2013
By phildave - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is my third Tagalog course and it is the best I have seen. Provides a solid foundation which you can use to get around with in the Philippines but also allows one to grow into the language if that is your desire. If your serious about Tagalog get the audio version...better yet get the online audio version. Very helpful.

1.0 out of 5 stars Complete with Audi but where's THE AUDIO!? May 4 2012
By J. Jackson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book series is designed to be done with audio. It's titled Learning Tagalog: A Complete Course with Audio but this product contains no audio. The book requires audio for you to get through it but this is ONLY THE BOOK. The audio is on their site learningtagalog.com but it costs extra. Waste of time and waste of money. Find a different program. This seems like a scam.
