5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely love this game!!! Nov. 25 2013
Format:Video Game
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
A Legend of Zelda: A link to the past is one of my all time favourite games, and I bought this new one very excitedly, but, of course, also very hesitantly. I did not want them to mess up my idealistic memories of the original, but I really wanted a continuation to the story.

So, let me tell you, that this game (so far, as I am still not done), has made me very happy. Of all things, one of the things that has made me happiest about the game is it acts and feels like the original, including the fact that they are doing the "from the sky" view, as opposed to "from behind" like the newer games do. This gives it this wonderfully nostalgic feel to it, and I absolutely loved it.

The story itself is just as interesting as the first, the graphics, are bang on to what I want, a nice combination of great graphics from our current technology, and old style from the original.

If you have any one who loves the Legend of Zelda series, this is an absolute must, and even if you aren't a fan of the series, but love Link to the Past, this is an absolute must.

Should you buy? yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hope this is the only one... Aug. 9 2014
Format:Video Game
I enjoyed this game, but found the difficulty lacking. I never though I would say that because I don't like overly difficult games but the dungeons were too easy. One of my favourite parts about the Zelda games were the increasingly trickiness of progressing dungeons. This game didn't have that. It also didn't have the new-weapon-every-dungeon thing, which I prefer over the "borrowing" system in this game. I'm hope Nintendo isn't planning on making future Zelda games like this. I'm all for expanding and introducing new elements to the Zelda series, but some things should be left alone. The traditional dungeon structure of the previous games are a must; to me, it doesn't feel like a Zelda game without them.

An excellent throw back to A Link To The Past with updated graphics, challenging puzzles and fantastic gameplay. Kept me occupied for many, many hours and has a great story line with a satisfying ending. A must-have for any Zelda lover - especially someone who played the classic games!

The game itself was one of the more challenging puzzle Zelda games, but easier on the actual combat side. An excellent game with great reply value. Highly recommend!

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, but still Zelda-ish. July 8 2014
Format:Video Game|Verified Purchase
I love Zelda games. This series is one of my favourite things, ever. That said, this game was really disappointing. I liked it, because I will probably always at least like a Zelda game, but I did not love it. Not even close. It was very, very easy, and they changed some of my favourite things about Zelda games. For instance, you do not find your main items in the dungeons. You must rent or buy them from this guy. All of them. It took away the sense of discovery that I love so much. Finding an ancient treasure hidden deep within a magical, mysterious place is much more exciting that just buying it from some guy. I can buy things in real life; I can't explore ancient ruins and find mysterious items hidden there by someone else for purposes I must figure out on my own. I can only hope Nintendo doesn't do this ever again. Changing the series and growing is one thing, but this was just a horrible idea.

The dungeons do not get progressively harder. Since you're supposed to be able to do them in any order you want, they all must be easy enough to be the first one you do. There is no real feeling of progress.

These changes seem to be getting nothing but rave reviews, and I don't get it. It makes me feel like they either just want Zelda characters but don't actually want to play a Zelda game, or that they feel this need to kiss Nintendo's butt no matter what comes out of it.

The Legend of Zelda is an amazing series and is something I have loved very much for a very long time. Please, Nintendo, don't ruin it like you almost did with this game. This is the first time I have ever been disappointed by a Zelda game.

What did I enjoy? The wall-merging thing was cool, and it's still a Zelda game once you get past those highly intrusive changes. Still had the puzzles and whatnot, and a typical Zelda story. But it was all completely overshadowed by the horrible changes, sadly. I don't think I'll be replaying this any time soon, if ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars The game is really fun and addicting July 7 2014

The game is really fun and addicting. Every time I play it, I play for hours. It is hard but it's one of those games where you just have to keep trying and you discover new things which is great. The tutorial is not long so most of the time, you are trying to figure out things on your own which makes it a bit challenging. I recommend this game 100%. Definitely my favourite game for 3DS.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great addition to the series July 3 2014
Format:Video Game|Verified Purchase
Fantastic addition to the LoZ world. It feels much like Link to the Past but with a whole different story much like most of the other LoZ games.

If you were ever a fan of the older titles then this will be a real treat for you. However, because it's much like the older titles like SNES,etc. You can easily beat this game in about 8-10 hours? Depending on if you're going for a complete 100% playthrough of the game (Be warned one Heart Fragment is won through a very annoying minigame).

That one minigame is one of my few gripes with this game. Look up Ocotoball for this game and you'll see what I mean.

There is Hero Mode that lets you play the game again where enemies do several times more damage while also unlocking some hidden plot devices. There's also a sub-mission where you rescue transdimensional squid babies...I'm serious....to get the item upgrades and possibly the most OP thing ever once you rescue all 100.

A must have for all LoZ fans.
