5.0 out of 5 stars An Etheral Soundtrack June 2 2004
Format:Audio CD
Okay i adore legend i have since i was about 5 years i completely fell in love with the movie in every way. I first watched the us release then i discovered all about the fact there were two versions of legend. Now then i have watched both and while i think the orginal version makes more sense in places iam afraid i do really prefer the us one. I adore the tangerine dream soundtrack from the first flutes at the beginning to the striking momment you first see the unicorns. For me as lovely as gerry goldsmiths score is you just dont get that same gut churning emotion when the unicorns first appear. What i adored about the TD soundtrack was it was so different you felt as though you were lifted into a another world the world of legend and goldsmiths score although fantastic is so typical of what one could expect. I really recommmend that you watch both versions and decide yourself but for me the beautiful pan pipes and haunting sounds of TD will always be my favourite soundtrack ever!

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally I've found it!! April 24 2005
Format:Audio CD
I fell in love with this movie when I first saw it in the early eighties (in my teens). Then I found out about the soundtrack from a friend a few years later. I wasn't into soundtracks back then, but when I heard it i immediately fell in love with IT. I saw someone call it "ethereal" in nature. I most certainly agree. I love music that takes me far away to fairy-tale lands of mossy green fields/forests and creatures of the mystic world. Tangerine Dream does this for me as well as Yes' Jon Anderson (hello Yes fans everywhere) and Brian Ferry's music to name just a few. So for all these super artists to be on the one album is the cat's meow for me. I lost my copy of Legend years ago and never really got around to trying to find it again until my teen daughter wanted to see the movie. My taped copy is warped from listening to it so much in my teens. I'm sorry to see that Amazon does not have any copies available now that I've finally found it again.

3.0 out of 5 stars Where is the Missing Track? May 8 2004
Format:Audio CD
First off let me say that I love the movie Legend. The costumes, the make-up, everything was top notch. In a world where digital seems to be flooding the market it is refreshing to look back and see the stuff that dose not look like a glorified cartoon.
On the subject of the soundtrack I must say that I was a little disapointed. The T.D. track at the very begining of the movie when the opening scrypt was rolling, seems to be missing from the soundtrack. I enjoyed the other music, but was very bummed out when I bought the sound track and discoverd this was missing. If anyone knows where I can find this missing Track It would be appreciated.
I do reccomend the Sound track as is although it is incomplete.

3.0 out of 5 stars Definitely takes some getting used to. April 8 2004
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
It's an ok cd, not all that amazing. I was expecting better. But It's been growing on me the more I listen. The only thing on it that I truly despise is "Loved By the Sun" - just plain irritating. Makes my nerves stand on edge. But it's only one song, so it doesn't ruin the whole cd.

5.0 out of 5 stars This soundtrack from the eighties is timeless! April 2 2004
Format:Audio CD
Yes. It is timeless even though it is a soundtrack from the eighties. I know that might not seem possible, but this is such a splendid ethereal CD. "Is Your Love Strong Enough" is the first song on the CD, and what a way to start it off. Like the movie, this CD stays with you and lives in your memories, touching you as the movie itself had. The instrumental pieces are equal in measure of greatness, and the best song of all is "Loved by the Sun" with Jon Anderson singing lead. Not only is there no voice like Anderson's, there is no soundtrack like this!
