Reena Cullen grew up listening to tales of the one they call the "Legend" -- a merciless warrior who is both feared and respected. So when her village is devastated by a cruel landlord, she knows in her heart the Legend is the only one who can rescue her people. But the flesh-and-blood man is even more powerful and sensuous than the hero she imagined
Magnus is fascinated by this petite, bold beauty who has come to him for help. He cannot refuse her, for she has stirred fires within him as no woman before. Yet another reason impels him to keep the lady close -- a secret that could threaten everything she loves. If she uncovers his dark mysteries, will Reena shun the handsome devil she has bargained with or will she surrender completely to a fierce and dangerous passion?
Part of the fun in writing, Donna Fletcher admits, is doing the research. Getting lost in Scotland in 1514 proved exciting, and learning about pirates and the high seas thrilled and surprised her. But it is with her characters she has the most fun. She loves giving life to fresh characters and feels their excitement as they face the pleasuresand pitfalls of falling in love.
Donna's own adventures have taken her to England, Ireland, and Scotland. She has walked the fields where battles were fought centuries ago, toured haunted castles, stood where beheadings were commonplace, explored the mystic mounds of long ago, and collected a plethora of memoriesand research that will live long in her heart and mind. She also loves exploring and photographing old abandoned homes, and she often takes long walks in the woodswith camera in hand. She feels her life is rich and full, having three terrific sons, two fantastic daughters-in-law, an endless supply of friends, a loving dog, and a crazyblack, one-eyed cat named Bear.

Repetitive and Boring,
By A Customer
This review is from: Legendary Warrior (Mass Market Paperback)
I have enjoyed other books by this author, but this one is boring. The characters are well thought out, however, as we learn about them, they became less and less appealing. It is always great when a formidable warrior has a sweet heart, but at many times in the book he acted like a scolding parent instead of an attentive lover. The plot of this book is deep, however, the characters seem very shallow constantly wondering "Is this love?" or " What are their feelings?". Once they tell each other of their love the rest of the plot fades away. The remainder of the book has the characters telling one another how love makes them feel and how secure they are now. Give me a break!

Don't bother!,

I don't know what i find to be the larger insult...that she writes her characters as if they're simple-minded, or that she writes as if her readers are simple-minded. There is absolutely no depth to this story. The repetition becomes such a distracting annoyance within the first couple of chapters and continues right through to the end. Someone needs to hand this author a thesaurus, and take away her question mark key! The characters and storyline had great potential but definitely dive bombed right in the beginning. And since when do 16th century warriors constantly sit around with his buddies talking about love and romance? Pleaseeeee.. ridiculous. You couldn't pay me enough to read another, a complete waste of time and money. So i have two words for those considering reading this book. "Don't bother!"

Beautiful Story!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Legendary Warrior (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is a great love story. The depth and purity of Reena and Mangus's love is inspired. Rarely do you read a romance novel where the hero and heroine are not at odds with each other at some point in the story. In this story, the two characters start off in a friendship filled with mutual respect and complete trust in on another. The friendship and physical attraction develop into a deeply loving and caring relationship where neither character every doubts the others motives or feelings. There is even a sub-plot love story between Thomas, Mangus's friend, and Brigid, Reena's friend that is just as sweet and loving as the main story. This book is very refreshing and I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading other books by Ms. Fletcher
