4.0 out of 5 stars A Good LEGO Game Overall Oct. 28 2011

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
For a LEGO game, Harry Potter does a good job. It brings the Harry Potter world to life, allowing you to see the characters and locations in traditional LEGO form. Unlike previous LEGO games, instead of requiring a tool to do a job, like blow up a barrier, you'll unlock spells by going to classes, which means that progression does feel a little slow at times. Exploring Hogwarts is fun, so is unlocking and finding everything there is to do. It's certainly not lacking in length, either: even if you forgo finding everything, the game could take you around 15-20 hours. For fans of the LEGO series of games, and fans of Harry Potter, you're bound to get some enjoyment out of this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it Dec 26 2013

Yes, another Lego game based on a popular franchise. At the core of it all, it is a Lego game. Arguably, the Lego games haven't changed much over the years. If you've played one before (ie. Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, Batman, Indiana Jones etc.) you'll kind of know what to expect here. If you're a Harry Potter fan, this game is definitely worth checking out nonetheless as I believe it's the best HP video game since the Prisoner of Azkaban.

The game itself covers the first four books/films in the Harry Potter series and each of the four years has several levels to complete. The game holds true to that magical charm that makes the series special. The world outside of the levels is worthy of being explored and is exactly what you would expect from any Harry Potter game. Places such as Hogwarts, Diagon Alley (where you can buy new characters and spells) and the Leaky Calderon. You can also unlock and play bonus levels at Gringotts. The Lego series adds to the experience with the famous comedic charm it is known for including in its games.
The game has tons of collectibles and unlockables that add to the level replay value and they can keep you busy for a long while if you're into that. Things such as exploring Hogwarts, learning new spells and replaying levels with your new spells in order to open new areas is all part of that experience.

If you're a Harry Potter fan and are looking for something different and maybe a nice nostalgic trip, this game is worth your time.

More complicated than Lego Star Wars, but love the split screen in two player mode. Free play mode is not as extensive as I would like & you can save multiple games.
