Book Description

Jan 5 2011 For Teens (Course Technology)
Learn how to create amazing robotic creations with LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT 2.0 FOR TEENS. This step-by-step guide shows beginners how to use the Lego Mindstorms NXT 2.0 kit and their computer to build fantastic robots, animals, vehicles, and so much more. Everything you need is included in the Lego Mindstorms kit, including a microcomputer, electronic motors and sensors, as well as various Lego Bricks and Lego Technic pieces like beams, axles, and gears. The kit also includes a software programming language called NXT-G, which is used to write the programs that are downloaded into your robotic creations in order to bring them to life. NXT-G is an icon based, drag-and-drop language, which means that there is no complex programming language that must be mastered. Throughout the book, you'll follow hands-on instruction through the three-step process needed to build your creations. First you use Lego Bricks to create your robot. Then you use NXT-G to write the program code that makes your creations work. Then you download the program code into the NXT Brick, a small microcomputer that is the brain of your creations, and then step back and watch them come alive. With this book you'll learn how to build all sorts of robotic creations and how to program the code that will make them come to life. The only limit is your imagination.

My son, 9 years old, after having read "The LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT 2.0 Discovery Book: A Beginner's Guide to Building and Programming Robots" and "The Unofficial LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT 2.0 Inventor's Guide", did not find this book (Lego Mindstorms NXT 2.0 for Teens)challenging enough. I guess in our case, the words " For Teens" was a bit misleading!
