Originally from Australia, he arrived in London in 1980, and proceeded to establish himself both there and in New York for his scene-making clubs and performances until his death in 1994.

This book is beautiful. You can really get a sense for Leigh's work and Fergus' as well. If you are looking an overview of Bowery's work this is perfect. I can't say enough about how beautiful the photos are.
