I bought this lens cleaning kit because it came with the two original LENSPENs that I wanted, a good sized air bulb, and a separate brush.
The LENSPENs are original and work great. A lens or LCD look like they have been polished after using them. I like to have the lens or LCD fairly clean before using the pen so as not to build up any crud in the small pad of the pen. The bulb is large and good quality and blows air out the nozzle, but sucks air in from the back-end so you are not sucking any crud into the bulb. The separate, handy, brush is good enough but not great. I don't know what the brush is made out of, but it is pretty good. Right amount of stiffness, right amount of softness. Be careful not to scratch anything with the metal feral though. Perhaps some masking tape around it would be a good idea. These good, and very good quality items, if bought separately would cost what, twice as much?
The other items aren't worth much.
The cleaning fluid is a bit 'soapy.' It IS good though if you really get some kind of crud on something. But, be aware that if you need to use it on the lens or the LCD you are likely to need to clean them with something else afterward. Like the cloth, the tissues or the pens. I don't think the fluid has any alcohol in it and I have always wondered if the mild solvent that alcohol is, is harmful to the coatings on lenses. Considering that, maybe this lens cleaning fluid is really good.
The microfiber cloth comes very linty and needs to be washed. It's about 7 X 7 after washing and still a little linty. Can a real microfiber cloth be linty? I don't know. It's soft and will be handy enough though.
You get 10 cotton swabs. OK while they last. You get 8 or 10 small lens tissues. You get a cloth drawstring pouch to carry the stuff around in if you need it.
Anyway, I think the 'good' items in the kit are will worth the money and then you get a few extra things besides. And it is pretty much just what you need if you don't yet have any lens cleaning items.
