5.0 out of 5 stars Just the Right Stuff for Your Mac, Jan 4 2005
By Brian Schilling - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Leo Laporte's 2005 Mac Gadget Guide (Paperback)
I have anxiously awaited Leo Laporte's 2005 Mac Gadget Guide since I first heard about the book in mid 2004. Boy, was it worth the wait. Finally, a terrific, intelligent and entertaining guide on almost everything a Mac user could want. Leo's engaging and upbeat persona, so well know after 15 years on TV (Screen Savers, Call for Help on Tech TV and ZD TV as well as radio), comes through loud and clear in this first edition. I cannot think of anything he missed: input devices, storage, audio and video, printers and scanners, PDAs, phones, gadgets and of course the ubiquitous iPod and the myriad of accessories. Maybe my fondness for Leo clouds my judgment but frankly, I cannot find anything wrong with this book. It is wonderful in every respect and probably a must have for any Mac user who plans to purchase any equipment for their computer in 2005. Every item includes a terse description, photo, manufacturer contact information, website address as well as price. The best aspect of this book is the self-confidence readers will have when selecting a product to match their needs. No more wondering if a product is really for Windows users and only works for Macs with some jerry-rigging. Maybe the problem with this book is your wish list will become huge and your bank account smaller after purchasing all these great products. This really is an awesome and unique book for Mac users. Be sure to consult before making any purchases in 2005. Happy New Year!
