Les Grande Chaleurs is a quirky, tender and clever movie depicting two characters falling in love against all the odds in a society accepting of older men and younger women but more judgemental and unaccepting of an older woman and a younger man. Marie-Therese Fortin and Francois Arnaud are compelling, funny and totally believable in this screen adapation. Never at any time does one feel that Fortin's character (Yannick's social-worker) is "mother like"; she is dragged against her better judgement into the love affair convincingly, both resisting and drawn towards young "Yannick" (Arnaud). Arnaud is magnetic, portraying "Yannick's" character beautifully, at times yearning, young, but always with a determination to win "Gisele" thereby portraying a screen maturity and passion that all women of any age would appreciate. The film never approaches being uncomfortable. All scenes between Fortin and Arnaud are tender, loving, funny and at times sad. It is well written and beautifully directed. There is some good music throughout which accompanies specific scenes. I always come away feeling good after viewing this film, and the supporting cast is also excellent. Thoroughly recommended.

This movie is really worth it. I wanted to get this movie for a while now and couldn't find it till now. I got the movie because I love Francois Arnaud ^___^

Wonderful customer service from this company. After 2 weeks and no DVD, and also learning that the Canadian Post had gone on strike right when I purchased it, I contacted the company and got a prompt reply saying they would Fed-Ex another copy. Now, they could have told me to wait until the strike was over to get my DVD but they offered, at their expense, an alternate shipping method and I got my DVD 3 days later. Like I said, wonderful customer service!
