1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Waste Your Money, April 17 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Let It Snow (Mass Market Paperback)
This is one of the worst books I've read. The first story was the best out of all of them. The third one, written by Fern Michaels, had grammar errors and the author even forgot that her character was her grandson and referred to him in one chapter as her nephew. This book might be for some people but it wasn't for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Holiday Reading!, Dec 19 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Let It Snow (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the perfect book to curl up with once you've finished your Christmas shopping, wrapped the presents and put them under the tree. My two favorite stories in this collection were by Holly Chamberlin and Marcia Evanick.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, Dec 16 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Let It Snow (Mass Market Paperback)
I am new to the romance genre, and have so far been very picky about what books I end up reading. This one I just bought thinking it would be a fun, romantic holiday read, and wasn't very familiar with any of the authors' other works. I was so disappointed. The story by Virginia Henley was absolutely horrifying. By the end of the story, she had completely stripped her strong female protagonist of any sense of independence and threw her into a submissive domestic role, all because she fell for this macho, powerful and dominating guy. She ends up abandoning her career and personal goals to *literally* bake cookies. Is this what writers think women want to read about? Giving up your lifelong goals for love?

I have found a few romance authors that manage to give us readers strong female characters that maintain their strength throughout the novel. They pick strong men that can handle it.

I have given this book 2 stars because the first story (by Evanick) is actully good. THAT one I enjoyed reading. But, overall, I remain very disappointed. There are far better romance writers out there.
