EntertainmentRealm.com, 3/14/12
“User-friendly, family friendly positive cookbook with recipes that should appeal to all age ranges and varied palates.”

InfoDad.com, 3/15/12
“A good introduction to vegan food preparation, thanks to introductory material on useful kitchen tools and a section explaining just what various ingredients are.”

Writing in the Mountains (blog), 3/20/12
“[A] great place to start if you're just getting into veganism. [Burton] breaks everything down into very simple terms in the introduction.  There's also a metric conversion chart in the back, great tutorial on cooking beans, a whole section on smoothies and much more.”

San Francisco Book Review, 4/20
“The pictures are truly mouthwatering. Recommended for the health-conscious home cook.”

VegNews, May/June 2012
“Burton’s best-looking book to date…is both family-centric and on-trend…She hits the mark of the current culinary trend of moving away from processed substitutions for meat or dairy ingredients, and toward whole-foods meals that are minimally processed. Of course Burton covers all her courses, with green smoothies and breakfast cookies all the way through braised tempeh with capers and Corn Chowder Quinoa Casserole. But where she really shines is in the sweets…Any family would be lucky to eat the way Burton’s does.”

Midwest Book Review, April 2012
“These recipes are varied and designed for any occasion and bring out the full potential of vegan staples. Let them Eat Vegan! is a strong pick for any Vegan cook looking for new dishes and new ideas.”

Tuscon Citizen, 5/29/12
“The author serves up her cooking tips and advice that add a personal touch. This is, in fact, the next best thing to actually having Dreena cooking in your home kitchen beside you…This is a fun collection that will make it easier for us to rediscover the joy of cooking with whole foods and, in the process, perhaps establish a healthier lifestyle.”

EatDrinkBetter.com, 7/2/12
“A worthy addition to a cookbook shelf. It has a wide selection of simple, yet elegant vegan recipes.”

Natural Solutions, 7/31/12
“You won’t find any processed vegan substitutes, white flour, or artificial sweeteners in this delectable cookbook—just hearty, healthy, delicious vegan food. From the simplest comfort foods to sophisticated main dishes, even non-vegans will enjoy cooking these flavorful and satisfying foods.”

Midwest Book Review, June 2012
“From Lemon Infused Mediterranean Lentils to Truffled Cashew Cheese, this is packed with dishes which are easy and surprising—and appealing to vegans and non-vegans alike. No vegan collection should be without this appealing presentation of alternative dishes.”

Portland Oregonian, 8/20/12
“There's just the right mix of difficulty, with enough easy recipes for novice cooks, along with more-involved dishes to challenge more experienced cooks. And for vegan skeptics, there's a whole chapter of crowd-pleasing veggie burger recipes. I can't wait to try them all.”

I waited ever so patiently for Let Them Eat Vegan to be published and let's just say, the best things are worth waiting for! This cook book has surpassed my expectations. We are not a 100% vegan family but we do not eat meat or wheat so Let Them Eat Vegan offers many incredible, tasty and easy recipes for our dietary needs. Dreena's recipes are straightforward and did I mention tasty?! And she has included so many helpful kitchen and food tips. Her vast knowledge is incredible and I have learned so much from her. Because I have a 4 year old, I also trust that Dreena's recipe's are family friendly. I can make dessert or treats for my family knowing everything is made from whole foods and clean ingredients. My Let Them Eat Vegan book has now been used on a regular basis for breakfast recipes, snack recipes, main course recipes, cookie recipes and entertaining. Everything has turned out perfect and bursting with flavour. You will not be at all disappointed with your Let Them Eat Vegan cook book. I can't put mine down!

I have all of Dreena's cookbooks, and was a tester for Let Them Eat Vegan. this book is absolutely amazing! there are so many great tasting, healthy recipes that my whole family loves. My hubby and my son are both gluten-free, and they can eat most of the recipes from this book... many are gluten free, or have gluten free options... and they are all so delicious! All the recipes were easy to prepare, and the instructions are clear.

I especially love the focus on whole-foods, no vegan substitutes (like fake sour cream, etc).. the emphasis is on whole grains, vegetables and beans... just as it should be! I feel really confident feeding my hungry, growing kids recipes from Dreena, and they are eager to eat them.

The Peanut Butter Chai Ice Cream recipe is worth the cost of the book alone ;)

Thanks, Dreena, for yet another fabulous book that my whole family loves!!!

This is the best vegan cookbook we've owned. Everything tastes as amazing as it sounds and the recipes are not too complicated. Dreena uses healthy and whole foods rather than a bunch of fake meat products or all soy like too many vegan books too. The cakes, pies, cookies, ice-cream sections are especially delicious. I love the raw recipes too. I make something from this book whenever we need to bring a dish somewhere. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a new vegan cookbook or anyone who just wants some great ideas for healthier and animal-free dishes.

I absolutely love this cookbook. The recipes are exactly the kind of things that I cook, whole foods, lower in fat and vegan. And everything that I've made so far, Kale Coleslaw, Lentil Walnut Burgers, etc is absolutely delicious. I also find that the cooking tips and information about ingredients is very helpful.

Our family is not vegan but I try to incorporate vegan meals into our weekly meal rotation. Dreena's books have allowed me to do this in a easy, approachable manner (not to mention her recipes are so family friendly!). I was thrilled to see the sheer volume of this book, so many delicious recipes have been included. Plus there is a ton of tips and information on vegan cooking/baking from pantry staples to food prep. This is a must buy for anyone who is looking for easy ways to incorporate plant based recipes into their family's life.

I was so excited to get my copy of Let Them Eat Vegan in the mail last week! I had been looking forward to trying the recipes for months!
There are so many great recipes to choose from and I especially appreciate that the focus is on whole foods, nuts, veggies and wheat or gluten free options ... I am inspired by Dreena's commitment to plant based cooking and I can't wait to try all the recipes. So far, I've made Coconut Banana Muffins and Almond Roasted Cauliflower... Yum! Even my non-vegan friends would love these dishes!

I have a LOT of vegan cookbooks and this is by far my favorite. Dreena is a vegan culinary genius. She has a knack for creating interesting, creative, tasty and reasonably easy recipes that are also healthful and whole foods based instead of relying on a lot of processed ingredients, fake meats and cheeses, etc. I have made almost every single recipe out of the "main dishes" section, and not one has been a disappointment, they all turned out great. Initially I was hesitant to get this cookbook because a lot of the recipes have a long ingredient list, however don't let that discourage you, most of the recipes are very easy to throw together and can even be done on a week night. My favorites from the "Main Dishes" section include the Fragrant Kidney Bean Lentil Dal, Festive Chickpea Tart and the Pumpkin Chickpea Cauliflower Curry. I've made almost everything from the "Breakfast Bites and Smoothies" section, the muffins are all fantastic, delicious while going easy on the sugars and oil. The Pumpkin Oat and Chia Banana muffins are my favorite, but they're all great. This book is also great for families with young children, as Dreena is a Mom herself, she has lots of recipes that would be appealing to kids while still limiting sugars and other unhealthy stuff, and many of her recipes have little tips and substitutions to make the dishes "kid friendly". I don't have one complaint about this book, it has everything you could possibly want and everything is delicious AND healthy, what more could you ask for? I use it several times a week while other books sit on my shelf. This book is a must have for everyone, even if you're not vegan and just want to add some healthier dishes to your menu.
