Product Description

If there's one thing that truly unites Canadians it's our national past-time of bashing Toronto. The first film on the subject, Let's All Hate Toronto is a hilarious tongue-in-cheek road doc. The film follows "Mister Toronto" as he embarks on a coast-to-coast Toronto Appreciation tour, encountering "recovering Torontonians" and those who would be quite happy never to step foot in TO.

Is Toronto really Torauma, Onterrible? Yes, according to a "professional Toronto hater." And in Calgary they finally discover the answer to a question that has boggled them for ages: Why do all the trees point west? (Because Toronto sucks that much.) Can the city that the United Nations cited as the world's most culturally diverse really be that bad? And which Canadian city hates Toronto the most?

Let's All Hate Toronto sold out the Hot Docs International Film Festival weeks before it screened. From the creators of the hit docs, Stupidity and Escape to Canada, comes an epic, comic odyssey into the heart of Canada's other national past-time.

I thought this show was both hilarious and thought-provoking - the ideal documentary, in my opinion. I am not from Toronto originally, but lived there for 5 years, and I think that there is something in it for everyone. The interviews with Canadians in other cities (e.g., Halifax, St. John's, Ottawa, Montreal, Calgary, & Vancouver) are very funny, and the history of Toronto-Canada relations was also quite interesting. If you have ever experienced the tension(s) in Toronto or between Toronto and elsewhere, this show is for you! (P.S. - If you are from Toronto originally, I think you will need a good sense of humour to watch this...)

This was a very funny documentary but it also has a lot of truth to it as well. Very good documentary for Toronto lovers and haters.
