My husband and I purchased this monitor a month ago and are very happy with it.We were very hesitant to purchase because of a review that warned of a loud humming but were very pleased to find that there is no humming on ours at all. The first thing we noticed is that it is very easy to set up. You basically just plug in the handheld monitor to charge then plug in and position the camera and you are ready to go. We also liked that it comes with two base options for the camera. There is the magnetic base which is good for setting on a windowsill or dresser as well as the clamp which can be fastened straight to the crib. We are also very happy with the clarity of the picture and sound. We have a two story house with a finished basement and I was concerned that the monitor may not work well when I am in the basement and the camera is in the baby's room 2 stories above, but it works great. The nightlight is a neat function but it doesn't give off nearly enough light to be called that in my opinion. We weren't purchasing for this function so it made no difference to us. The lullaby function is a great option and it is nice that you can control it from the handheld monitor (but you need to turn the volume down on the monitor when you use it unless you want to be serenaded by lullabies too!). All things considered, we are very happy with our purchase and I have already recommended it to some friends who are also in the market for a baby monitor.

We bought this camera about a month ago, and I've been really pleased with it.It was very easy to set up, and it works well in both daylight and nighttime. The red light isn't intrusive, and has only caused a little curiosity in my boy, but he isn't bothered by it. My only complaint is that the power cable isn't that long, and the warning label on the cord claims that we shouldn't use an extension cord. This leaves me little choice but to use batteries, or to have my son's crib close to an electrical outlet. There were some complaints about noise from the camera, or the handheld unit, but I can't say I've heard anything. I've slept peacefully beside the handheld unit, and been in the room when the camera was on, and I've never had a problem. Hope this helps.
