First off, this was supposed to be an upgrade for my Lexar 16GB Firefly. No problems with the capacity.
The write speed is laggy. Specifically, I'm running a genealogy program off of it, that I also ran on the Firefly. There's no comparison. The Firefly, while not zippy, is much speedier compared to the V10. Also, I got this because it could go on a keychain. Again, compared to my Firefly, there really is no comparison. The cap is nice and tightly fitted on the V10, and can go on the rear of the drive when it's plugged in - but only if you don't plan to put it on a keychain or attach it to any other carrying device. The miniscule mechanism in which to thread a cellphone charm loop or something similar is on the back bottom of the drive. On the Firefly, it's a part of the cap, and can easily be threaded onto a key ring (and after several years, the cap on my Firefly is still tight). On the V10, it's a plastic eye/bridge through which you have to loop a thin lanyard, or maybe a jump ring to attach it to a key ring (I used a cell phone charm finding out of my beading supplies: a flexible loop on one end, attached to a jump ring; loop it back on itself, and attach the jump ring to the key ring. I have mine on a lobster claw hook so I can take it off and my keys aren't hanging off the drive when it's in the computer). Anyhow... design flaws. I think I'll also get the 32GB Firefly. I suspect I'll be happier with it - besides, it has a shiny name!
