Review

This is not your run-of-the mill wank fodder, switching from female to male to female perspective in three chapters, the impeccably written segments exorcise the dark intersection between sex and love and come out with an answer - need. (Suroosh Alvi, Vice Magazine)

Berger may have honed her skills writing for porn mags, but don’t think there isn’t a mind at work here . . . This book might give Can Lit a Euro-complex. -- Now Magazine

Book Description

"But if I told you everything you'd probably think I was a slut and I can't deal with that so I'm not going to tell you absolutely everything." An unnamed woman narrates her lust and shame. Unnamed men describe their erotic encounters with her from their unique perspectives. "It was simple at first, because I finally felt what I was doing with my body was right: I had all this longing for sucking the life out of men and now here was a life that I finally wanted." Like Teiresias, the blind seer who has been both man and woman, the reader experiences both sides of her dizzying story - a pure howl of ecstasy and pain, a rhapsodic examination of the love in degradation and the hatred in desire, and a parody of the pornographic imagination that informs it. "God I was turning inside something mammoth oh how can I tell you?" One part Jean Genet, one part Molly Bloom, one part Penthouse Forum, Lie With Me is ultimately a love story. Disturbing and arousing, it introduces Tamara Faith Berger as a startling, original and uncompromising new talent.

Definately Hot Dec 10 2005
By IceFaery - Published on Amazon.com
Have only begun to read this little book. Little meaning it is about the size of a childs board book. This disappointed me. I was expecting a novel. Considered returning it even. But if you want a hot "little" read about the exploits of the character, this will do it for you. Reads like the fantasy section of Penthouse. Not sure if it's really worth $18.95 Canadian but it's paid for now so what the heck.

You decide.
