Book Description

March 12 2007
Dr Deepak Chopra, the world-famous pioneer in the field of mind-body medicine, addresses one of the fundamental questions of existence. Drawing upon personal experience, the wisdom of ancient Vedic philosophy and state-of-the-art particle physics, Chopra helps us to overcome our fears about dying and to consider the fantastic possibilities that may await us in the afterlife. This is the book that Dr Chopra has been preparing to write his entire life. In it, he considers the theory that death is an illusion of the senses and that the soul survives in an ongoing spiral of refinement, ending in enlightenment. Thought-provoking exercises offer a first-hand experience of these and other ideas, helping you to make sense of your own spirituality whatever path you choose to follow, and offering you your very own map of eternity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Warm and Inspirational Aug. 14 2011
By Srini Chandra - Published on Amazon.com

The back of the book describes it as the `book he (Chopra) has been preparing to write his entire life'.

Indeed, it is well written and best work till date. I believe that it will appeal to an audience that may have an aversion to the sticky details of physics and science, but wants the comfort of knowing that the author has considered and reconciled scientific aspects with his hypothesis and beliefs.

Deepak Chopra is at his eloquent best. Warm and inspirational book. That says it all. Read it. It will change the way you look at life and death.

5.0 out of 5 stars very well founded view on the afterlife Oct. 8 2012

This book hugely expanded my view on not only what 'may' happen after death but based on case reports and statistics gives the most plausible explanation what will happen after death.
The book focusses not only on the afterlife but on the fundamentals of life itself. In what frequency are we living? Is there an "after"-life or is there only a conscious perception of existential planes? I allready believed in life after death but after reading this book I am more convinced we can expand our consciousness and even perceive that afterlife while still alive in physical form.
As a follow up on this book I am currently reading "autobiography of a yogi" by Paramahansa Yogananda" which I can recommend highly!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mysticism demystified. July 2 2012

This is a refreshingly clear, well researched and well presented discussion, on a vital (no pun intended) topic. Recommended reading for all those who have realised they are going to die someday, and know the value of being prepared. Mr Chopra is a prolific author, who has a strong command of his subject matter and delivery, I have read three or four of his books over the years, but he has gone up a notch in my admiration with this one. I was particularly impressed with the user-friendly reference section at the end of the book, which gives you ample resources to pursue any of the threads that have been raised. If you have come to the point of facing this topic, this book will give you inspiration and comfort, without pretension or preaching.
