This is not a spoof of our lord Jesus Christ, but a hilarious look at a poor judean man named Brian (played by Graham Chapman), who in the confusion of the Roman occupation of Israel, is mistaken for a holy man and unintentionally gathers a cult following of half witted beleivers.
His hatred of the Romans leads him to a group of wannabe revolutionaries called the People's Front of Judea led by Reg (John Cleese) and Stan "Loretta" (Eric Idle). Togeter they try to gain notoriety by planning a raid on the imperial palace which goes horribly wrong.
