Compassionate Wisdom for the Soul, April 18 2008
By Dave Carpenter "Peak Performance Scholar" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Life Lessons for Mastering the Law of Attraction: 7 Essential Ingredients for Living a Prosperous Life (Paperback)
As a long time admirer of what Jack Canfield & Mark Victor Hansen created in the Chicken Soup series, I was eager to see what the dynamic duo of Eva Gregory and Jeanna Gabellini would add to the mix. Chicken Soup always is great story telling that makes for powerful life lessons. And Ms. Gregory and Ms. Gabellini have become leading lights in helping us understand the law of attraction through a variety of channels (coaching, teleseminars, speeches, etc.).
Well, what this awesome foursome cooked up is a beautiful book. Filled in the traditional style of the Chicken Soup series with poignant stories, and interlaced with just the right dose of "how to" guidance for allowing the Law of Abundance to work in one's life. The combination makes for delightful, compassionate wisdom for the soul.
One of the beauties of books is the very different styles that authors can, and do, use to delight our senses and touch our soul. Some books stretch our thinking by being "in our face" while others impart great wisdom in a more graceful manner. Some books are designed to be read once straight through, while others become more of a life companion which we turn to often for new insights based on what we are experiencing in our life, at a given moment. This book is definitely in the category of a life companion whose wisdom is delivered in a truly graceful manner.
As with all books in the Chicken Soup series, much of the magic is in the choice of stories utilized to emphasize the theme. Kudos to the foursome for a great selection of stories. Two of my initial favorites illustrate the power of the book. Sonia Choquette's story on visiting France is so, so well written -- in a delightful, humorous way -- that her teaching point leaves you with a smile. And David Ellis' story about venture philanthropy was a simply but powerfully made teaching point on a relatively new concept that I hope will become a fabric of our society.
Of the 100+ books I read a year, I only write Amazon reviews on the very best of those I do read. As such, my review grades tend to be high as I am writing on the best of the best. This book not only deserves five stars but is a very, very special book...one of my favorites of the last year. It is abundant in its grace and wisdom -- a testament to what happens when the dynamic duo meet those chicken soup guys. Sure hope this powerful foursome have some events planned where we get to hear from all four, live, in an evening. That could change the consciousness of an entire city, and ultimately of a nation. At a time when our nation very much needs such a lift!

This Book is a beautiful Healing, April 24 2008

This review is from: Life Lessons for Mastering the Law of Attraction: 7 Essential Ingredients for Living a Prosperous Life (Paperback)
Some people say that there is no road map in life, well, this is it! It didn't take a few pages into the book to find out that I was not clear about what I wanted in life, and guess what? there was a detailed method to solidify my vision. (The questions don't seem so hard after a while)
I am application minded, too much explanation or history tunes me out. I am finding, that the beautiful balance of insight,FANTASTIC quotes (that are like pictures with thousands of words), and real life stories, are serving as guide posts for my life. Thank you Jeanna, Eva, Jack and Mark, for your thoughtful insight in this Masterpeace!
