Pretty Good,
This review is from: Lifeblood (Audio CD)
I picked up it today, I really like it, but not as good as "Gold against the soul", "Holy Bible" and "EMG" also "Generation Terrorist". Favorite songs include, 1985, Glasnot, To repel ghosts, Cardiff afterlife, a song for departure. Its missing alot of their edge on this album but its still good. Its a good buy for anyone who likes brit pop, indie rock and other 90's bands. Manics rule.

not as brilliant as past efforts but...,

i still love it. returning triumphantly from the commercial flop "know your enemy", (i'll never know why that was badly reviewed...), the manics whip out this somewhat poppy new order-infused album. filled with synthesizers, reverb, clean tones and... strange abba reminicent choruses (listen to "song for departure"), "lifeblood" is different from all other msp albums, then again that's the great thing about the band, every record is a new style and never repeatitive. although, my least favourite manic street preachers album, that doesn't mean much because i still love it, it just gives more credit to their past efforts. key tracks include: "1985", "empty souls" and "i live to fall asleep". as usual, the lyrics are amazing and as usual the musical composition is original and compelling and as usual bradfield's voice is ideal. if not my favourite, still a favourite.

Fantastic,

I like all their albums (not too crazy about "Generation Terrorists", though) but this one is the biggest sleeper of them all. With each listen, you discover something new. You constantly find yourself amazed by the many incredible talents these guys possess. The Manics have covered many genres since 1990, but they just keep finding new vehicles for their ideas. You will never get tired of 'em."Lifeblood" is the most biographical of all their records and as such might leave the more politically radical Manics fans a bit disappointed. This is by no means "The Holy Bible" or "Know Your Enemy" (I still don't understand why KYE is considered a bad album). The music on "Lifeblood" is absolutely beautiful. Please grab a copy as soon as you can. You will not be sorry.
