If you remember the 80s and all the great music that came in that decade then The Spoons are one of the bands whose sound defines that era. An easy going flow and listenability makes this band a favorite of mine. They play festivals in my area now and then and owning this CD makes it easy for me to get into the mood for such a show. Very happy with my purchase.

Lots of great music on here. Got it as a gift for my husband, and he keeps saying "Wow, I remember this one!" Perfect for fans of 80's music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reissued (sort of) version of collectible spoons Sept. 19 2011

Spoons were Southern Ontario's early 80s new wave band. This CD collects their greatest hits from that early 80's period. A greatest hits CD was issued in the 90's called Collectible Spoons which had a picture on the cover that was from the same photoshoot as this. This CD is remastered (and compressed) compared to the songs on collectible spoons and I think it sounds a bit better. However, compared to Collectible Spoons this CD omits Trade Winds, One in Ten Words and Nova Heart (album version), but it has added Symmetry which was the B-Side to Nova Heart. This is one band where I wish they would reissue the catalogue on CD (not on crappy MP3), or better yet high quality FLAC...in particular the extended version of Tell No Lies, and the Bridges Over Borders album, which have yet to see CD.

But, in regards to this disc, you'll find the music melodic, keyboard-heavy typical of the stuff from the early 80's. Give it a shot if you're into New Wave.
