I really wanted an NRSV audio Bible, but was unable to find one without distracting music in the background. This Listener's Bible may have some music, but I don't even notice it if there is any. It is well read and produced.
The entire Bible is on these four discs, and each chapter is a track. It loaded onto my Macbook without a hitch, and I have the whole Bible on my 8 gig Nano. I can get to any chapter with 4-5 clicks, making it incredibly easy and convenient to listen to the Bible.

The production is good, the reading is good, and it works extremely well with iTunes and my second generation 8gig iPod Nano.

A hint for listeners new to iPods: Put the audio Bible tracks into Playlists. Make a New Testament Folder and an Old Testament Folder, then make folders under those for, e.g., Gospels, Paul's Letters, Pentateuch, Major Prophets, etc. And in those folders make playlists for each book. Thus, you can select Playlists, Old Testament folder, Major Prophets, Isaiah, Isaiah chapter 23 - and in 5 clicks you have the exact chapter you want to listen to. An iPod-wise friend passed this on to me.

I bought an ipod touch for the first time and I wanted an audio version of the Bible to listen to. I tried some free stuff on the net and not to knock some of the people who have tried to provide a free service but there is a big difference between the average person reading to an audience and someone with experience. I found Max McLean spoke at a comfortable pace while changing his tone and cadence to reflect the particular passage he was reading. There is background music but it is not loud and adds nicely to the listening experience. I am very happy with this product.

This is a wonderful version (NIV) of the entire Bible on only 4 discs for MP3 player. Max McLean has a deep, rich voice. He can express a wide range of expressions. Highly recommend this.
