5.0 out of 5 stars Surpasses volume one Aug. 18 2009
By TammyJo Eckhart - Published on Amazon.com
This is the second volume of short stories from [...]. This time we are not given information about how these 16 stories were chosen in this collection in the forward by Marilyn Jaye Lewis. This lack of detail was my only disappointment of the book.

Compared to the first volume, these stories are more fine-tuned, have more complex characters, and do not include a lot of unnecessary fluff and roughness that I find very common in online erotica. There are amusing stories such as "The Thingy" by Cockatoo, "Intervention" by Steve Wingert, and "We're Not Gay" by Inward Bound. There are romantic pieces like "Blackberry Autumn" by Risia Skye, "The Favor" by Seneca, and "Irish Eyes" by Colleen Thomas. There are also edgy stories that tackle death, racism and the reliance on technology in works by Max Sebastian, KillerMuffin, Marguerite Colson.

The stories in this volume include heterosexual couples and foursomes, lesbian dynamics, and gay pairings. They run from the simply straight forward romantic scenario to a generational trends, through role-playing and into violence. In short, there is something for everyone which does not mean you will enjoy them all but it is likely you'll enjoy some of the stories and that's the best you can hope for in any anthology of fiction.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Erotica Authors You've Never Heard Of April 27 2009
By Jolie du Pre - Published on Amazon.com
Although the erotica website Literotica is the largest and the most famous of its kind, no author in Literotica 2 stands out as well known in erotic fiction. Marilyn Jaye Lewis, a woman who *is* well known in erotic fiction and who wrote the excellent introduction to Literotica 2, finds that fact about the anthology refreshing. Many erotica anthologies include, as she puts it, "the usual suspects." And she's right. They do. However, as an erotica anthology editor myself, I can tell you that this is not always the goal. You can't present new voices if you don't receive the submissions. More importantly, you can't present an erotica anthology that includes unknowns if the submissions from the unknowns are not up to par. Literotica 2 is an erotica anthology where everything is up to par. It takes risks, such as presenting the very difficult to swallow "Absolution for Gretta MacClain" by KillerMuffin. KillerMuffin was the only name I recognized, so I naturally headed to her story first. I couldn't finish it. Not that you shouldn't. Although the story that includes African Americans and lynching was too disturbing for me, it is well written and powerful. And my own anthologies would include more stories from new voices if the writing was as strong and poignant as Blackberry Autumn's in "Risia Skye." Do I recommend this collection from some of the best erotica authors you've never heard of? Absolutely.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious and sex-tricious! May 16 2009
By Jason Frost - Published on Amazon.com
This was a very sexually charged collection of erotica that I almost didn't read. The first couple of stories didn't do it for me and I ended up putting the book down. I picked it up from time to time and tried to re-read in the hopes that I was just having a bad day or I wasn't in the mood. Unfortunately it was neither. They just didn't grab me and when it comes to reading, I have the attention span of a fruit fly. If it doesn't grab me immediately it goes away.

For some reason (maybe because it was erotica, hehehehe) I kept hammering at it and then one day... BAM! It picked up. I'm being a little dramatic of course but if finally jumped that hump and got REALLY, REALLY good! The stories, after the first few, were exponentially sexually and powerfully erotic. This collection is a wonderful anytime read to break up the drum and drone of everyday life. I found myself rereading certain passages in stories BEFORE I even finished the whole story! THAT is a sign of a good collection!

Here are some of my favorites:
`Office Hours'
`Intervention' (My favorite!)
`Absolution for Gretta MacClain' (one of the most brutal erotic stories I've read in a LONG time and my second favorite)
`We're Not Gay' (you can feel the pleasure and complete fulfillment of "first" release in this one)
`Troll Bridge' (now this one was different!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Nov. 5 2012
By No Name - Published on Amazon.com
And amazing. Don't ask me to pick a favorite. I loved intervention, and so many others. Couldn't pick one out of the collection if my life depended on it. What a great way to end a day. As the purchase pages of Amazon can attest, there are new authors all the time. Some offer a few pages while others a full novel. Many are good, although there are lemons. This collection has put together a group of relatively unknown authors and created a masterpiece. If you're like me and don't really care if there's a "famous" name attached to it, this book is for you. Great reading.
