Winner of over 80 prominent awards, including several Game of the Year awards, LittleBigPlanet returns with its signature "Play, Create and Share" experience plus irresistible new bonus content valued over $30! With the new Game of the Year Edition, players can play 18 brand new levels, create their own experiences with bonus costume and level packs--including the Metal Gear Solid Level Pack--then go online to share their levels with other players around the world or play over 1 Million user generated levels that have been uploaded since the launch of the original game release. There is no better time to join the world of LittleBigPlanet!
Imagine a platformer gameworld that's yours to shape, build and explore. Imagine the possibilities, then jump head first into the reality. LittleBigPlanet puts the power of absolute creation into your own hands. If you can see it, you can enhance it. If you can't see it, you can invent it. The LittleBigPlanet experience starts with players learning about their character's powers to interact physically with the environment. There are places to explore, creative resources to collect and puzzles to solve - all requiring a combination of brains and collaborative teamwork. As soon as players begin, their creative skills will grow and they will soon be ready to start creating and modifying their surroundings - the first step to sharing them with the whole community. Characters have the power to move anything in this glued and stitched-together 3D landscape; they have the power to design, shape and build both objects and entire locations for others to view and play. There's no complicated level editor; all of these skills can be learned by simply playing the game. Creativity is part of the game play experience and playing is part of the creative experience. Fathom out ways to overcome tricky obstacles as you interact with the surrounding environment, or compose inspirational locations and objects that are totally unique to you. Immerse yourself in an organic world that's just waiting to be personalized. Players can make their world as open or as secretive to explore as they like. When it's ready, they can invite anyone within the LittleBigPlanet community to come and explore their patch - or can go and explore everybody else's. Key Game Features

This game is amazing. That is really all I am going to say about it. Making your own levels can be hard and very time consuming (especially if you make a fantastic level) but it is worth. There are loads of content packages avaiable in this version of the game that are not available in the original release. If you are buying this game just to play the single player, then I would stick to the original version if it is more within your budget, but if you plan on creating some stellar levels, then buy this one since it has so much more that you would have to pay for to download otherwise.

We gave our 11 year old daughter this game for Christmas and she loves it.The whole thing just feels very different from the typical console game. Right off the bat you have a sort of guide who sounds a bit like Stephen Fry or the narrator in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and he helps you quickly figure out how things work. The visuals and sounds are wonderful. There is a lot of humour built-in to the scenarios. It all reminds me a little of the Beatles' Yellow Submarine movie, and is simply a beautiful game. And Sackboy is darn cute. Multiplayer, the game requires you to work together rather than compete, which is a nice change.
