This guide has been very helpful from the start. Beautifully done, with lots of pointer and detailed information. A bit too much of "witty talk", but thankfully doesn't spoil the overall effect. My son (9) loves it and treats the guide as a collectible even after finishing the story mode.

this game is now my favorite game of all time. i loved LBP1 dearly and wondered how they could possibly improve it, and they did by adding gadgets in worlds to enhance your experience (so far, the grappling hook, the head mounted cake shooter, the super strong hand glove). the sound track is so incredible that i don't mind mucking around in a world because i get to listen to the music for longer! i bought the guide at the same time and it was WELL WORTH it to do so.

So, LittleBigPlanet 2 just came out yesterday, and I have been playing non-stop, but I am so much into the creative aspect of the game, that I had to start playing with creation tools even before I finished the game itself.I typically buy all BradyGames books with the corresponding game at the same time, as the liner notes and online resources are either limited or sporadic in any given disc. Their books put everything there is to know about the game in one handy reference guide. There is so much going on with LBP2, it's mind boggling. So very impressive with more to come. The book does in fact go through every level that "Media Molecule" created, and even shows you where everything is hidden, if you give up. So if you are wondering where that one prize bubble is in a level you have played a dozen times trying to get past 97%, this will help. But only use it if you give up! Keep in mind that there are already over 3 million levels available to play, and you can play all of them with this new edition. The only difference is that you have more creative opportunities. The main reason I got this, and started diving in was for the creation section. The first part of the book is the "Walthrough" which I will get to when I finish the levels on disc. But pages 232-319 are dedicated to "Creation". Along with the video tutorials in the game, this is perfect to look back at to refresh your memory and to plot out new designs and ideas. The game itself is revolutionary and hard to believe they improved on their first. I highly recommend this book and the game for parents to give their children. It teaches creativity, trust, kindness, sharing, teamwork and the promotion of friendships no matter what your skin type or origin, as we are all made of fabric in this planet, and everyone is different. If you bought PS3 and only one game, it's well worth the investment. Plus, when the kids are in bed, you'll be taking over the planet in your form fitting burlap. Get this book! First, let me say that this book has amazing detail. Tons of screenshots to point out those hidden gems to fill your popit. I am working through the Create section now which was the real reason for the purchase - they don't just regurgitate the in-game tutorials (which is great).But, the one thing that drove me crazy in LBP (the first) was coming upon a sticker trigger and having no idea where it came from. I thought this book would say, "Get this sticker in level 5 behind the..." to let you know where it was found. You can look it up in an index though. That and the sometimes too cute dialogue kept if from being 5 stars. 4.49 stars overall 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful

having bought the game guide to the first LBP, i wanted to purchase this one as well, and yee-haw, it is much better than the first! there is the exhaustive coverage of the story levels (and bonus levels) of the game, as well as SUPER coverage of the creation possibilites. there is also a thorough listing of the prizes indexed in the back, so you can reference where each will appear.i wish the first LBP guide had done this (i never found the rainbow sticker!), as it would have been nice to reference without sorting through various internet boards. this is highly recommended for anyone wanting to explore the game in detail! |
