Review

Best Travel Series of the Year, 2008

''We select the Little Black Travel Books as our travel guide series of the year. The main reasons for designating these guides as best of the year are their portability and user friendliness. (The spiral binding allows the reader to keep the book open to a certain page.) Individual volumes are small enough to fit into a pocket, but in terms of helpfulness, they are twice their physical dimensions. The other reason these guides are so worthy of praise is the fact that each volume has a neat, tidy, and nicely detailed foldout map to the particular area under discussion. The chapters in each volume correspond to the geographical areas into which the authors divide the city for the tourist. Each chapter gives basics on places to see, available art, and entertainment venues, places to eat and drink, where to shop, and where to stay. You can study a range of guides before your actual trip, but this is definitely a commendable candidate for carrying with you on site.''

Great little book! April 11 2010

Really happy to get this book. Terrific size for popping in your handbag. Love the way each city is divided into area's - makes it easy to find a nearby restaurant or place of interest. Maps are simple to follow and, although small, easy to read and compliment the book perfectly. Really happy with this series!!

This book was the best thing we got for our trip! May 9 2012

There are so many tips in this book, for popular places and for more hidden places... it is organized by the different regions within Rome, which made it very simple to look up what was in the area.

The main map was invaluable!!! We had 3 other guides/maps, and each time we got turned around, those would go away and we'd pull out this book to get us back on track.

it never failed us. :)

My best friend went to Rome a couple months after we did, and she took it with her too.

You can't go wrong with this one folks! :)

Handy little book June 8 2014

Nice guide book. It's small enough to carry in your bag and use on the trip. It has a hard cover and is wire bound so it should be durable? There are maps and info of the different areas. I'm sure it will come in handy on my trip to Rome.
A nicely organized book Sept. 3 2013

It is a nicely organized book that has excellent maps and descriptions of sites and local restaurants. It really divides the various parts of the city well and brings up lesser known sites while elaborating on the majors. It fits in your pocket and helps with planning your assault on the Eternal City.
