The first thing you'd notice about this book is that it's roughly 15% larger than the other little critter books and on a much heaver paper. Seems much more durable as a result. I would imagine this is because of the foldouts which are used to reveal critters friends under their costumes. This turned out to be very fun for my daughter.

The only problem with the book is that the ending sort of ends flat as most of the time is simply spent revealing the friends under their costumes. But still a great book for those who enjoy little critter.

I love the Little Critter books and had high expectations for this one but it wasn't humourous like some of the others. I'm used to Little Critter getting into more silly mischief and there wasn't really any in this book. It was okay but it was a bit of a disappointment.

No one loves Halloween more than children... Well, okay. Maybe a lot of us adults aren't far behind. ;) My oldest granddaughter is crazy about Halloween so this will be a perfect gift for her. This book is not scarey... just fun.

This is another great book by Mercer Mayer! My daughter loves these books and loved this one especially. I got it for her right before Halloween and she had to have it read to her for two weeks straight. The illustrations are fantastic!

My daughter is 3 and she loves Little Critter thank goodness cause it is one of the few characters my husband and I can read about over and over. I think this was helpful in showing her Halloween isn't really scary, which is what I was looking for.

Entertaining Halloween Little Critter book! Oct. 16 2013
By Laura Butterfield - Published on Amazon.com

This is a cute Little Critter book to get your toddler excited for Halloween. My daughter enjoys it and chooses it for story time pretty often; however, she does find some of the costumes ("a little scary"). She is 3 for a reference point.

My girls really enjoyed reading this book. The flaps for flipping seem to be a winner! I know its a hit when I'm asked to read it several times in a week.

My daughter loved this book. We received it today and already read it a few times. In the evening before going to bed her first words are always: "Let's read a story, how about Little Critter". Today, of course she wanted the new book and we played trick or treating too. This book does not offer a complicated story. It shows Little Critter going to a party where he meets all his friends who are dressed up in scary costumes. The book is really about fighting fears that children might have. Every time Little Critter gets scared, he sees who is behind the costume and his fears are eased. It is great for kids who are afraid of those scary costumes and might give them confidence that behind all scary stuff there is just a person. This book was very worth it, just like everything else by Mercer Mayer.
