I became a fan of the band only about 2 years ago. I saw them live for the first time last month (Dallas @ House of Blues) and was totally blown away by the live performance. This 2 CD + 1 DVD set is a GREAT document of this tour and their live show.
The video is very professionally shot with good lighting, great camera work on multiple cameras, great sound and a great performance. VERY impressive live video, BUT...it doesn't stop there - because also included are 7 or 8 of their 'studio' videos, as well as interview footage.
The audio CDs are great quality with a REALLY well chosen set list. So many great songs, every one of them are great and really come alive in the live setting. The mix is good and just enough crowd noise to add excitement but not enough to be obnoxious (which is a pet peeve of mine for live recordings). Very well done.
And for the price? I paid $7.99 for 2 CDs and a DVD, who could possibly complain about that? It'd be a steal at three times the price.
If you are a fan, GET IT. And show it to your non-fan friends, and they will probably be fans before you know it.

A great live Flogging Molly experience, Mar 7 2010

The CDs and DVD represent a very competently played and recorded live show. Flogging Molly is an awesome live act and this package allows fans to get a Molly fix until their next time in town. I saw them for the first time in Portland, OR (about a month after this show was recorded) and was blown away. I couldn't believe they played so many songs (obviously, enough to fill two CDs). The songs are relatively faithful to the studio recordings, which is both good and bad. It's good because so many bands mangle songs when they go too far astray (e.g. radically changing the tempo or style of a song). But for the same reason, it's also bad because only when bands take that risk do they have a good chance of making a truly ground breaking live album that attracts new fans (I'm thinking of something like Clapton's Just One Night or Frampton Comes Alive). As it stands, this a great treat for Flogging Molly fans. However, if I had not heard much of the band and wanted to hear more (or if I wanted to introduce a friend to this music), I would pick up Swagger and Drunken Lullabies first if only because they provide a more refined intro to the band.
FYI, the song list for CD2 is wrong. Tobacco Island is the first song (with Rebels of the Sacred Heart being #2, and so on)

What a bargain!, April 5 2010

This set is truly a bargain- for under $15, not only do you get a full-length concert DVD, but also a double CD of the concert. The concert DVD is very good quality, with a clean, widescreen presentation shot from multiple cameras, and a great Dolby Digital 5.1 score. You can definitely rock the house with this DVD. It also features music videos from 7 or 8 of their songs, although they are all in basic stereo and 4:3 format, and I prefer the more dynamic concert footage. My only complaint stems from having attended a concert in early March- they played more songs at the concert I attended, including Black Friday Rule (with a great one-man acoustic lead-in that gave way to a full-band jam) and Factory Girls. The double CD is pretty much a direct audio rip of the DVD, which is a good thing. Highly recommended, especially for the price.
