Product Description

Product Description

How 'bout it for Mr. Soul! What a fabulous live document this is-Sam has the ladies screamin', the men shoutin' and the band tearing it up (that's King Curtis on the sax). This Florida crowd got some show that night, and now you can be there for Chain Gang; Cupid; Twistin' the Night Away; Bring It On Home to Me; Feel It; It's All Right/For Sentimental Reasons , and more from a fired-up Sam Cooke.

5.0 out of 5 stars Live Goodness May 4 2012
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
This cd takes you back to a fun live gig that Sam did in the 60's. His hits are here as well as Sam interacting with the crowd. You really get the flair for being there for this show. The sound production and liner notes are great and give you background on Sam and this reissue. The mark of a sweet cd is when you put it on and time just disapears. A must have for your cd collection if you like real music that has lasted.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant...flawless! Oct 14 2005
By C S M
Format:Audio CD
I still prefer James Brown's Live At The Apollo, but that could soon change since I've only had this one about a week. I love it more each time I listen to it. I wasn't overly familiar with most of these songs, but after hearing these amazing versions, I'm really not interested in hearing the studio versions -- I'm sure they'd all be letdowns! How could there possibly be better versions of these songs anywhere?? I heard "Cupid" on the radio yesterday for the first time(!!) and this live version just blows me away compared to the studio version, as good as it is! Don't hesitate -- buy this CD...now!!!
