Solid As A Rock!,
By
This review is from: Live At Montreux 2010 (Audio CD)
In 2010 when Gary Moore announced that he planned to record a new rock album after 20 years fans that grew up in his hard rock period during the 80's (Corridors of Power through to After the War) could hardly wait. Gary's move to the blues was difficult on many even though most of his fans accepted his decision continuing to follow and support him with great admiration for he truly was an outstanding guitarist and musician. Live in Montreaux is a wonderful tribute to his hard rock past but also showcased that he'd be a force in future based on his three new songs. Gary Moore's sudden death came to shock to us all. Fortunately he's left many fabulous recordings behind which are all worth purchasing and will forever be a legend!

it was a shock that Gary had died earlier this year, i went online looking if there is any gig in my area or near where i live as iv never seen the best irish guitarist live, now i will never see him live. when i 1st read that there will be a new live cd and dvd on the way i couldnt wait i kept checking my order status for both. here now i have the cd in my ipod and its rocking full of emotions and its differ then all the live cds that came before it but full with the best tunes ever the classics that made me a fan 20 ago its the best ending for a live gig with the all time fav parisienne walkways. you will always will be remember for making the best music in rock and blues

Excellent Exit RIP!,

Picked this up and have not been able to put it down! GM was an amazing guitar player and was so over looked & under appreciated in my opinion, whom we lost too early! Have been a huge fan since 1981. Gary on this Live disc gets back to the rock! It features a couple new tracks which are also live from the shows. If you are a Gary Moore Fan - scratch that! If you love a Great Rock & Roll Show with an awsome guitarist -> YOU CANNOT GO WRONG! BUY THIS NOW!!!!

Little did I know that this show would be the last time I would see hime live. I actually recall the sound wasn't that good in the audience that evening after Billy Idol (way too much distortion), but no trace of that on the CD: sound quality is excellent. Apart from the obvious favourites my heart is stolen by Oh wild one as an excellent indication of how much we're missing out off because of your way too early departure. If there ever was an artists that didn't keep playing his publics all time favourites but dared to do new things, that was you, and what a beauty it is. Sounds as if there was another excellent Celtic rock period coming our way and I hope more of the recent songs made with Carter will still be released if this is just an appetizer. For any Gary Moore and/or guitar aficionado a must have !R.I.P. |
