So Good It Hurts, Mar 16 2006
By A Customer
I had honestly never heard of Metric until about a month ago when they stopped at Muchmusic. They completely blew me away. The lead singer's voice can range from soft whispers to an edgier tone, it can reflect the innocence of the earlier works of Britney Spears and the sharpness of Ashlee Simpson. Except that, of course, the lead singer's voice is not trashy at all like the former two people mentioned. There are songs on this cd that are fun, sad, and just plain awesome.Empty: slow start, but the chorus is amazing, The guitar solo hurt my eras at first but you have to get used to it. Glass Ceiling: immediately became my favourite song. It's the singer's voice that does it all. Hand$hake$: another one of the awesome trio. It's edgy. Too Little Too Late: one of those slow songs you can listen to when you have a headache. Poster OF A Girl: many people's favourite, it has a very catchy rhythm. Monster Hospital: absolutely amazing as well. It's a fast song compared to some of the others Patriarch On A Vespa: love the ending. Slow song. The Police And The Private: very, very catchy tune. Its wordplay completely captivates you. Ending Start: I stil haven't gotten the hang of this song yet...it's fairly slow, but the lyrics are amazing. Live It Out: catchiness to the max. It's the kind of song you could have stuck in your head for weeks. Basically, Metric is NOT mainstream, which makes me very happy. If you're tired of all the rap crap the radio stations play, listen to this!
