well, i'm a big fan of the circle jerks ( i have all the cds & the flipside vhs ) and i seen them play the year before w/ US bombs at the same club ( HOB in downtown Disneyland )
I'm glad that this DVD looks & sounds WAY better than the Flipside Video but the crowd is "mild" and the camera work is not as good as the Adolesents DVD from the same place ... but IT's Still a must have for old & new fans

I'll start with the basics. The production quality of this DVD is very good. The audio is well done; the singer can be understood. The music is well mixed. The filming allows the viewer to watch the performance without any editing distractions.

Now, I'll focus on the performance itself. The Circle Jerks put on one hell of a show. There's a palpable tension between the audience and the singer. A couple times, I was expecting a

fight.

The set is rammed through at a blistering pace. At forty, did I feel old and ridiculous watching this performance? Sure, I'd be torn up in the audience, left for a lump of lard. But, then again, the guys playing the music are as old as I am, if not a little older. Do the lyrics and politics jive with my old pathetic self? No. But they sure brought back memories of days gone by, when I didn't have a mortgage, children, and could be pissed off while just wanting some "skank."

Pretty cool live set with great quality on song and video. These guys are in their 40s and they still bring the passion and energy. yea, the songs are angry, political and smart ass....but still relevant. Only play for an hour, but about 30 songs. If you were old school punk, will enjoy this drinking late night in the basement.

Being in Australia we are starved over here for the 1980's hardcore bands as none of them have made their way to tour Australia.This is a must have to see Keith Morris live in action, awesome show, now just need Off to tour here please! Impressed with quality as i dont expect much of old punk footage , however this is good.
