"Why does merely understanding and trying hard to follow the example of Jesus often yield little progress--and even less joy and peace?
In this foundational work of Christian formation, Klaus Issler derives insights from the life of Jesus in the Gospels to uncover the dynamics of becoming Christlike. You will discover how you can forge much deeper connections with Jesus so that his life begins to permeate your own character." (From the IVP Website)

Name and Subject Index
About the Author: Klaus Issler (Ph.D., Michigan State) is professor of Christian education and theology in the Ph.D. program in educational studies at Talbot School of Theology, Biola University, in La Mirada, California. (InterVarsity Press).
My Thoughts About the Book: Living into the Life of Jesus is not a book for the spiritually fainthearted or weak, (unless you are looking to grow healthier and stronger in your faith as a Christ follower) for author Dr. Klaus Issler delivers a challenging message of what it really means to live a Christlike life. And it is not easy but it sure is rewarding.
In his book Dr. Issler takes us in a new and boldly different direction concerning how we develop Christlikeness in our life. Whereas many books about how to live like Christ are oriented more towards trying harder, doing, working, following a certain set of rules and exercising the will to be more like Christ, author Issler reveals to us that it is more "changing the flow of our inner heart." It's all about relationship and our seeking to abide in Christ and thus to live as he lived and love as he loved.
So, Living into the Life of Jesus is a book that offers a fresh look and a new and I believe better and much more effective way to develop Christlikeness in our lives as we live in this world.
Buy the book. Take a look and see if the new and abundantly satisfying relationship with Christ that Dr. Issler writes about in his book is something you are interested in, and if it is, then his book is just the right book for you.
