Product Description

From Amazon.com

Are Britney and Christina over-the-hill? It's a question the effervescent talents of 15-year-old Lizzie McGuire star/teeny-pop Hilary Duff fairly begs. While the plot of this big-screen adaptation of Duff's popular Disney TV series (Lizzie and pals take a class trip to Italy; she's mistaken for a Neopolitan pop star; comic complications ensue) hearkens back to the days of Frankie and Annette--or was it Mickey and Judy?--its soundtrack is a downright sunny tribute to the power of contemporary teen pop. Anchored by Duff's performances of the bright, ear-candy single, "Why Not," and her balladeer turn as the film's faux Italian pop princess, "What Dreams Are Made Of" (each in two versions), it's a score whose bubbly energy resonates through its covers--Atomic Kittens' take on the reggae/Blondie chestnut "The Tide Is High"; Vitamin C's peppy version of the kitsch classic "Volare"; Jump 5's faithful reading of EW&F's "Shining Star"--and originals like Cooler Kids' infectious "All Around the World" and Beu Sister's "You Make Me Feel Like a Star" alike. --Jerry McCulley

This review is from: The Lizzie McGuire Movie (Audio CD)
This soundtrack has a lot of good songs on it. Some of my favorites include: "Why Not" (Hilary Duff), "The Tide Is High" (Atomic Kitten), "Volare" (Vitamin C), and "What Dreams Are Made Of" (Hilary Duff). If you like pop music, which this basically all is, you just might love this CD!

5.0 out of 5 stars lizzie is my fav, May 2 2003
By
This review is from: The Lizzie McGuire Movie (Audio CD)
After I watched the movie and I loved it so much so I go out and me get the soundtrack because lizzie is the coolest. so i go to the store and us get the c-d with my best friend hilary, yeah i know not that one but isnt that cool that she has gots the same name as she! Yeah i know! And even though me grow up in the old state of Lousiana i can still love and appreciate the fact that she is one of my idols and i would give the world to spend a day with my bestest friend hilary duff, i would recomned this c-d not because its good because it isnt, but we need to support a growing girl so she can get food to eat and a roof overhead. Without a fake voice and a horrible acting abilities, oh and shes not pretty. Well, anyways without people like us, she would be very very poor and unfortuate, and im glad shes not. Well actually im not but we still needa help a starving girl in need. Thanks, now buy the FREAKIN cd! yay! GO HILARY! :-) OH AND HAVE A HILARY DUFF DAY! O!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fair, though not something to rave about, July 23 2011
This review is from: The Lizzie McGuire Movie (Audio CD)
This CD has a nice variety of songs. Though most of them are pop (in truth most of them are), they all have their own unigue feel that lends this CD a refreshing change to other soundtracks. Hilary's songs are all very well done, and I especially enjoy the ballad version of "What Dreams are Made Of" and I wish it was longer.
If you enjoy songs done by Hilary Duff, then this is a good CD to try. If you prefer songs with more oomph then don't go with this. Most of the songs are upbeat, but without a lot of drive. Overall it is a good CD to listen to, and kids who enjoyed the movie will like the songs as well.
However, it is a bit on the dull side. It has its amazing songs, and then there are ones that once you've heard them, you're good for a while.
