My little one loves the Llama Llama books. This book is great for little ones who may be starting school or even daycare soon. Ann Dewdney has a lovely way of conveying a message. I love reading her stories to my little guy.

This book was wonderful for helping my daughter get used to the idea of playschool, and the fact that even though Mommy leaves she always "comes right back to you". We repeated that a lot during the early weeks of school. The book also introduces a lot of concepts about what happens at school (new friends, teacher, reading rug, crafts etc).

5.0 out of 5 stars A household favourite! March 30 2011
I bought this book for my four year-old daughter who is having difficulties with leaving me at preschool and she loves this book. She asks to read it every night. It is a great book and very relatable for the kids.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book but.... Sept. 19 2009
By Amanda C - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Personally I loved this book, but my son who was and still is upset about starting preschool got sad when hearing this story. He is very close to me and doesn't like me leaving him anywhere so even though it has a happy ending he is still thinking about the little llama missing his mama, he can't get that part out of his head. When he gets to school in the mornings he tells me he is "sad like llama" and that he is "going to miss me today". So for little ones that are a little nervous but really excited about school I would say definitely buy this but if you child is like mine and not at all excited about school I would say maybe not...

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for toddlers starting school!! March 19 2009

The Llama Llama books are all excellent,so, of course, this is too! This book focuses on llama going to school for the first time, and missing mama llama . Once you start reading this book, you'll be amazed how accurately the author portrays llama llama's feelings as young one in unfamiliar surroundings. Llama llama is sad and isolates himself until after lunch when he begins enjoying the new experience. Of course, mama is there at the end of the day, and llama llama has a new outlook as he hugs mama llama. I highly recommend this book for anyone that has a little one anxious about beginning school!!

My two-year-old adores the llama llama books, and this has to be her favorite. The pictures are cute, the message is helpful (she's learning to stay at Sunday school without Mommy and Daddy), the whole thing is sweet.

My son has separation anxiety and this book is helpful by showing him that he isn't the only one who feels this way and that Mommy will always be back for him.

Love this book for our children! Llama Llama books quickly became one of our family favorites. We started to read this to our child before they started preschool. It was perfect. The story is cute, super fun to read and the illustrations are adorable. I recommend this book and any other Llama Llama book to any parent.
