Product Description

From Amazon.com

With Load, Metallica takes a dramatic left turn with their music, continuing in the direction suggested by Metallica, their previous album. The songs on Load have groove; they're slower, with far fewer of the lightning-fast riffs that have been Metallica's trademark since their inception. While songs like "Ain't My Bitch" and "Wasting My Hate" are up-tempo and full of the vitriol one would expect from the quintessential heavy metal band, "2 X 4" is hard rock with a blues beat, "Hero of the Day" sounds positively mainstream, and "Mama Said" is an actual, honest-to-god ballad. While some diehard fans may find this mix unappealing, there's plenty to like about this album, including its laid-back, rhythmic orientation, and James Hetfield's characteristic growl tempered by his growing maturity as a vocalist. -- Genevieve Williams

3.0 out of 5 stars They done better !, Aug 26 2008
By Martine "MC" (Montreal) - See all my reviews
I have all Metallica's albums & been a fan for 20 years. I suggest you purchase this album only if you are a true fan or else you will be disapointed. I enjoyed it but I found that the RE-LOAD album is better than LOAD. If you have to chosse between the 2 albums... get RE LOAD.

5.0 out of 5 stars mama said buy this album who ever is a true metallica fan., Jul 30 2006
By kirk "defleppard1" (ottawa ontario) - See all my reviews
how can the people say that load n re-load are "sell outs" this load n reload are awsome albums. and i know its not like ther old heavy thrash days but its still really good. now i personaly love the old days. but load and reload are more mature n goes into deeper lyrics. james sings really well n this album. cant beat it. who ever says there a true metallica fan and don't like load n reload then i dont think your a true tallica fan. all the true tallica fans love this album. im a hudge fan of there old stuff and there new stuff. i love both sides of metallica. there my favourite band in the world! my fav songs are "the house jack built, hero of the day, king nothing, mama said and thorn within" really well thought out songs. and the whole album is well thought out to. but this is the grown up metallica who thinks that its time to have a change in the music buisness. and thats no problem there great grown up n child like. the lyrics n this album are deep. much more better than the lyrics n the old days. for the people who thinks metallica sold out well your wrong ur. u guys are the sell outs who think they "sold out"
