  • Optimising Logic Pro 9

  • Organising your work

  • Getting Logic to work your way

  • Recording, editing and mixing tips

  • Mastering with Logic

  • Using plug-ins

  • The Logic Environment
  • Although Logic Pro 9 introduces many features which improve the program's accessibility and ease of use, it remains a powerful and complex piece of software.

Often, there are many ways of achieving the same ends, some more complex than others and some which are not obvious. This book contains hundreds of useful tips to help you obtain the results you desire. It describes how to perform standard studio techniques such as drum editing and replacement and parallel compression as well as tips to improve your workflow.

The book covers the new features introduced Logic Pro 9. Manipulate audio timing and tempo with the Flex tool, take advantage of the new latency compensation during recording and mixing, and learn about the new plug-ins like Pedalboard and Amp Designer.

These tips and tricks are culled from the author's long familiarity with Logic in music production, multimedia work and audio restoration, from his columns for several music technology magazines and from the results of research arising from the many questions he receives from Logic users.

Logic Pro 9 Tips and Tricks will help you utilize the software to the max.

5.0 out of 5 stars More Info than the Apple Pro books! Feb. 21 2012

I have been using Logic for years, and still there are things to learn... This book is chock full of handy tips and tricks (like the title says) to speed up your workflow, and just plain help you understand what the hell is going on in this daunting software. The Apple books ARE glossy, and in color- but this book is the shizzle.
Only one error I found: on pg. 75 Tap Tempo function, the writer omits the fact that you have to have SYNC button, manual and auto enable sync (in file>project setting> synchronization) all on for tap tempo to work. Otherwise a gem of a book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great tips! March 28 2013

The book is a good compendium of tips and tricks.
The graphics and some thing are exactly the same in the last two editions (Logic 8 and 9) but tha's because Logic don't change too much.
If you have one of this two editions you maybe don't need another.
Buy if you wanna have it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Not Bad! Nov. 1 2012

The book is well written and covers just about every subject.

I would like to see a "Do It Yourself Recording" book for Logic that takes someone new to the program, like me, and shows them step by step how to record a song, and THEN how to edit the song.

This book, like many others, is more like what you would find in a classroom. It TEACHES but needs more real world examples.

That said, for what it is this is one of the better books out there on Logic. Not too complex but yet you can look up and find what you need for just about any problem.

    Worth buying!
