If you loved the MX500, MX510 or MX518, then this is a very safe bet. It is physically exactly the same as these models except the specs have been upgraded yet again. Frankly, the original MX500 was more than good enough for me, including for gaming, and it lasted almost 10 years (left click pushbutton is all that went wrong with my MX500). So the upgrades in resolution, sample rate, and software are just a plus that comes with nearly a decade of advancement. The interface with your hand is the same "tried and true," "Battle Tested" (as Logitech puts it) configuration. Weight is nearly the same if not a little lighter than the 500, and the construction seems equally solid, so it doesn't look as though Logitech has at all 'cheaped out' on the quality. Only time will tell...
I have to say I didn't realize there were so many gamers who loved this mouse (which originally wasn't marketed as a "Gaming Mouse"), But I'm really glad Logitech has decided to keep bringing this mouse back because it is the only mouse I know how to use, especially for gaming! If you're looking for a solid gaming mouse or you just want a new freakin' MX500/510/518 then go for this. You will love it!
