This review is from: Lois & Clark: Season 4 (DVD)
Lois & Clark can be a bit corny. But its a relatively nice family TV show. Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher work well together. It's disappointing that the show ended abruptly. It sucks to leave a show hanging.

Downed by Kyptonite-level writing in the end?,

This review is from: Lois & Clark: Season 4 (DVD)
To begin let me just state that I couldn't give this season 2-stars like the third, because it is actually an improvement, but without the English subtitles (Yup! They were excluded from this set as well, though French and Spanish subtitles are still offered.) I felt that I couldn't mark it the same as the first two seasons at 4-stars. Luckily, the content helped me shave off that second star (as detailed below).A show with great promise that did try to dodge the Kryptonite bullet launched in the third season comes to an end with this boxset. Of course, it doesn't begin well with unskippable commercials on the first disk, or that Lois appears to be able to fly without Clark's support in "Brutal Youth" or that Perry apparently shared Clark's middle name of Jerome (as revealed in "The People vs. Lois Lane"), the fact that "Mad Dog Lane" was mentioned in the _Pilot_ and, thus, wasn't made up in "Dead Lois Walking", or even that "AKA Superman" would have make a lot more sense if they'd never replaced the first Jimmy because he "looked too much like Clark and the audience might be confused", and that there are instances in which Clark's chest is exposed a few times (or enough of his lower neck) to reveal that he's not wearing his suit. But, despite all that, the final nail in the coffin of this set which firmly removes that second star in my eyes is that the "Special Features" include a trailer for a video game and a poorly structured "interactive" timeline of Superman. (Interactive only in the fact that you have to select the next entry on the screen.) Are we presented with a timeline of the Lois & Clark Superman? Is it a review of various scenes from the four years' run of the show (seeing as how this is, unfortunately, the final season that was produced)? Barely. Out of the 30+ entries, only one before 1993 is actually related to the incarnation those who purchase this boxset are obviously interested in, and then just because it had clips of Lois & Clark in it; of the rest only 1993 (the only entry focused on Lois & Clark) and 1996 (the second wedding, when they tried to correct the jumping of the shark from the second season, which barely touches the series) reference the show. Not to say the rest are horrible, but it's often a pain to select the next entry, as the order is a little jumbled [Top three (video) then the bottom two (text and images only), which means, in chronological order, you'd get each page presented as 1-3-5-2-4]. This means, of course that only 3/5th are actually "hosted" at all, the rest are text only, and when you press the right arrow to continue from one of the text entries, it skips the next entry, only further confusing the timeline. A simple "play all" option, with titles between each segment would have solved that problem easily. [As the top is video and the bottom is text, you'd think this would, perhaps, helps to explain the jumbled "logic" of the set up...Until you realise that some of those text ones are related to animation, movies or series, and a few of the "hosted" segments are about the comics. {As I said, confusing.}]

Great Ending to a Great Show,

This review is from: Lois & Clark: Season 4 (DVD)
The fourth and final season of Lois & Clark is excellent and fresh, as it depicts their newly wed life. While there are a few weak episodes (like "Ghosts"), others (like "Lethal Weapon") are some of the funniest and most touching of the series. One note to parents - while the show conveys excellent values throughout this season, there are some episodes that deal with adult themes (intimacy, apparent infidelity, etc) that may not be appropriate for young children.
